RADIUS
From Suntel Communications knowledgebase
RADIUS is a protocol for remote user Authorization, Authentication and Accounting. Its primary use is for Internet Service Providers and Telecom Operators, though it may be used on any network that needs a centralised authentication and/or accounting service for its workstations.
RADIUS is often used in wireless (Wifi, WiMAX and GPRS) networks for security reasons.
