PSI setup with Jabberd2 on SLES9

You may download both Windows and Macintosh Messenger clients for your private server from: ftp://ftp.suntel.com.tr/pub/psi

First Install the PSI software then:

  • Go to the "Account Setup" screen from the menu at the bottom left corner of

the PSI window.

  • Click the "Add" button.
  • Give a name to the account (eg. Messenger Server).
  • Do NOT select "Register new account".
  • Click "Add"
  • On the "Account" tab fill in the user's normed email address in the "Jabber

ID" field. (eg. user@yourdomain.com.tr.)

  • Select "Save Password" and type in the users existing email password.
  • Select the "Connection" tab.
  • Select "Allow Plaintext Login"
  • Select "Manually Specify Server Host/Port" and type in "xmpp.yourdomain.com.tr"
  • Press the "Save" button.
  • Press the "Close" button.
  • Select "Online" from the menu at the bottom right corner of the PSI window.

Once you have 2 or more users online you can add each other as contact from the "Add a contact" menu at the bottom left corner of the PSI window.
